It's Greg Bahnsen's 'By this Standard'.

You can get it for free (pdf version) here:
http://www.garynorth.com/freebooks/docs/pdf/by_this_standard.pdf

Enjoy reading! I'll have to go through all of the references this evening!

Just curious, how would you define God's moral code? It's a topic that's we've been discussing at my church, how we as christians should interact with government, and if we're in the government, on what basis we do legislation.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13014082703674214536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4616819624459852146.post-2000931905561292312012-06-28T04:44:20.494-07:002012-06-28T04:44:20.494-07:00Thanks for the advice Pinecone! I believe my older brother (with whom I'm currently living) has that book, so I'll start reading it!
That's one thing that I've been looking for, is a good overview of the different doctrinal beliefs, it's almost a little overwhelming when you look at all the different ones out there, and then trying to figure out which ones are correct!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13014082703674214536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4616819624459852146.post-68573772682632713362012-06-27T17:00:49.327-07:002012-06-27T17:00:49.327-07:00Like Morecraft says, "do that yesterday!"...Like Morecraft says, "do that yesterday!"

What you put up would make Ken Ham jump for joy. Just "trusting" Jesus without knowing why is basically the same thing as "trusting" that your parents love you if you've never seen them or heard from them.

If I were you, I'd start with Greg Bahnsen's great book, "Always Ready". It gives a great oversight as to why presuppositional apologetics are necessary, and why God is the only source of truth. Plus, it hammers out sound theological doctrine on what it means to "always have an answer".

While you do this (or regardless of whether you do it or not), read the Bible and ask questions about it, always trying to get your answers from it.

And pray. All the time. With Faith, as recommended by James in chapter 1, verse 5-6.

Hope this helps. I'm very encouraged to see another young man seeking God's wisdom!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
